Offshoring – Why the hesitation from some?

Despite the obvious advantages of offshoring/outsourcing for businesses, especially smaller companies where cost control is crucial, some people still hesitate to do so. We often get asked the same two questions from prospective clients

1. “What about the time difference? I need the support during my and my client’s business hours” – Anyone who has been to Manila has seen its a 24-hour city, especially the CBD of Makati, BGC – Offshore consultants will work the business hours of their clients, not of the Philippines.

2. “What about the cultural fit, will they be able to work with my team and clients?” – Firstly, the resilience and adaptability of the Philippine people is very strong, over 2.1 million Philippine nationals work overseas. Secondly, the Philippines has been ranked 20th for their English proficiency, which is ranked as ‘High’. Thirdly have you ever worked with someone from the Philippines? They are impossible not to like! 😊 (psa.gov.ph & EPI)
